This policy explains what personal information The Fifty-Eight Club collects through thefiftyeightclub.com, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We keep it short, and we only collect what we need.
Who we are
The Fifty-Eight Club is a club for women in the diamond and jewellery trade. It is run by Charlotte Rose, who is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us about your data at any time at hello@thefiftyeightclub.com.
What we collect
When you join our list, we collect your first name, last name and email address, and, if you choose to tell us, your area of the trade. We also record the date and time you gave consent and the wording you agreed to, so we can show that you asked to hear from us.
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
When you visit the website, our web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. These are used to keep the site secure and working, and are deleted automatically after a short period.
How we use it
- To send you Club news, event announcements and membership updates by email. We do this because you have given your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To reply to you when you contact us. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in answering your enquiry.
- To understand which parts of the trade our members come from, so we can plan events that suit them. We only use the area of the trade you choose to give us, and never sell or publish it.
- To keep the website secure and running properly. This is in our legitimate interests.
We will never sell your information or share it with other businesses for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Club. They act on our instructions and are not allowed to use your information for their own purposes:
- SiteGround, which hosts our website and email inbox on servers in London.
- Brevo, which we use to send our emails and manage our mailing list. Brevo is based in the European Union.
We may also share information if the law requires us to.
International transfers
Where any of our providers process information outside the UK, they do so under safeguards recognised by UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK’s approved contract clauses.
How long we keep it
- We keep your details on our mailing list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a suppression list, so we never email you by mistake.
- We keep emails you send us for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and for no longer than two years.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information;
- withdraw your consent to emails at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information;
- ask us to transfer your information to you or someone else in a common format.

Cookies
We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don’t track you across other websites. Our fonts are stored on our own server, so visiting the site doesn’t send your details to Google. The only cookies the site sets are for the Club team when logged in to manage the website.
Age
The Club is for adults working in or around the jewellery trade. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you by email.
